The minimum speed needed is 512Kbps. An unlimited broadband connection is recommended but not necessary. If you are sharing your Internet connection with your roommates ensure that you have sufficient bandwidth available for you to get a good response.
You will need a personal computer with a HTML5 supported web-browser, an Internet connection and a head-set (mic + headphones). You can use simple speakers without a mic, but, when you have interactive sessions with us, you will need a mic. Also, speakers are not very good from learning perspective. Good quality headsets are now cheaply available and we strongly recommend that you buy one.
At VirtuQ™ we encourage community participation in learning. So, we encourage you to post your problems to the VirtuQ™ Forums. In those forums various users are free to provide you solutions, however, we ensure the quality and correctness of the responses. In any case, if no one else responds, we will provide you solutions to your problems in a very short span of time. In case there is an issue which you do not wish to discuss on the forums, please send an email to support@virtuq.com.
Once you finish a module, we will provide you with a module completion certificate. You should send a request to support@virtuq.com asking for your module completion certificate and the same will be sent to your postal address in 3 working days.
Short answer, none as of now. We want to be upfront about this rather than make any false promises or keep this fact hidden. At VirtuQ™ we do not focus on certification, rather learning -- in most of the other institutes it is the other way round. Companies do not accord too much weight to certificates until and unless they are from a third-party accredited agency (e.g. Cisco, Microsoft etc.). Focusing too much on certification will divert us from our primary objective of providing a quality training program to you. At a later point of time, we may re-think this strategy but there is no fixed time-line for that. On completing the module, you will certainly get the module completion certificate. However, join us with the primary objective of learning.
Each of our modules have a separate prerequisite. Please check the module before subscribing. Other than that we need the following:
We have quizzes for you to take and exercises. Quizzes are multiple choice and tell you the right and wrong answer then and there. Exercises are more longer term and you should put in effort to get them right. You can discuss the exercises in the VirtuQ™ Forums. We do not have any written examination as this is not a certificate focused program. This may change in future, but, we do not have any time-line for that yet. We encourage you to spend lot of time in the lab to gain a very hands-on perspective of what you learnt in the module.
You can take multiple modules together and we pool in the resources (compute and laboratory) for you. However, this is generally not advisable.
We have deliberately limited the size of the laboratory window to conserve bandwidth usage. So, in the full-screen mode the laboratory window will be center aligned and will not get maximized beyond a fixed size.
VM stands for Virtual Machine. Think of it like your very own personal Linux machine which you are free to play around with. Do note that each user has a dedicated VM and VMs are not shared between multiple users.
